Tigers Drop the Opener

Welp - it was a helluva game.

Overall, it was an adequate start to the season. Adequate because it was a good game, if you’re a fan of the sport. 11 innings is always good. It’s like getting extra wings on your plate for the same price. Of course if they make you sick, you’ll regret your gluttony.

The game drew 44,934 fans - breaking the mark set in last year’s opener thanks to the 778 new seats that were just added.

Verlander looked good through 5, then faltered. Cabrera earned some of that cheddar. I was a section to the right of the homer that Guillen absolutely crushed and I can say that Denny Bautista looked surprisingly good 9even though he got charged with the loss). Inge gunned somebody out from Center with a bullet. But it wasn’t enough, and despite having a great chance at the end, it wasn’t meant to be.

Oh well, I enjoyed being there, and although they lost, I’m sure this is going to be a great season.

I hope.
