Detroit Signs Granderson Through 2013

Detroit locks up Mr. Granderson for 5 years at a cost of $30.25 million.

Granderson is coming off an historic 2007 season in which he batted .302 and became only the second major leaguer in history with at least 30 doubles, 20 triples, 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in the same year.

Curtis was set to enter free agency after the 2011 season, but the Tigers now have him at least through 2012 and hold a $13-million club option for 2013.
