Well, I said yesterday that I wouldn’t be surprised after beating the Yankees 16-0 if the Tigers came back and lost to the Royals 2-0. I stand corrected on the score. After somehow managing to only score 3 runs on 16 hits, the Tigers have started off this all important West Coast swing with a resounding thud. You would think 16 hits against the Royals should just about do it. Guess not.

The Tigers got hits at all the wrong times. Nobody came through with a clutch hit. Nobody. They need to go 5-1 on this road trip, and they already got the loss out of the way. So now they just have to win the next two against the Royals and sweep Oakland to come back home and still have the Indians in their sights. Meanwhile, they have fallen to 3 1/2 back of the Tribe.

But hey, they beat the Yankees 16-0, right? Great.
